eLinehub Order Payment Guide

eLinehub supports two payment methods for remote diagnostic orders: Offline, settled directly between Technician and Mechanic; and Online, processed securely through Stripe. This guide explains how each method works, what fees apply, and how refunds are handled.

1. Payment Methods

Choose how the Mechanic pays you for each order.

Offline — Default

Payment is settled directly between you and the Mechanic outside the platform. No platform setup required.

Connection Credits are consumed based on remote connection time.

Online
  • You set the order amount in eLinehub. The Mechanic can complete payment at any time — it does not block the session from starting or ending.
  • Requires a Stripe account with at least one payout method added under Earnings → Online Payment Methods.
  • A Platform Service Fee applies (percentage varies by region — see Earnings → Online Payment Methods for your rate).
  • Stripe transaction fees also apply and are borne by you.

Connection Credits are consumed based on remote connection time, independent of order payment.

What are Connection Credits? Connection Credits are eLinehub’s billing unit for remote connection time. They are deducted based on session duration, independently of which payment method is selected for the order. See Credits on the Pricing page.

2. Refund Rules (Online Payment)

Before Completion

Payment has not yet been settled. No fees are charged to either party upon refund.

After Completion

Stripe may charge a processing fee for the refund. This fee is borne by you (the Technician).

In all cases, eLinehub refunds its full Platform Service Fee. Offline payment refunds must be handled directly between you and the Mechanic.

QWhen are Connection Credits consumed?

Connection Credits are deducted based on the duration of the remote connection, regardless of which payment method — Offline or Online — is selected for the order.
QDo I need to set up Stripe before I can accept Online payments?

Stripe account setup is required before accepting Online payments. Connect your Stripe account and add at least one payout method under Earnings → Online Payment Methods before switching any order to Online payment.
QDoes the Mechanic need to complete payment before the session can start?
A
Online payment is independent of the remote connection — the Mechanic can complete payment at any time, and it does not block the session from starting or ending.
QWho bears the Stripe processing fee if a refund is issued after the order is marked Completed?
A
After an order is marked Completed, Stripe may charge a processing fee for the refund. This fee is borne by the Technician. eLinehub refunds its full Platform Service Fee in all cases, regardless of when the refund is issued.
