Remote ECU Programming & Diagnostics Solutions

Built for technicians, tool providers, and multi-site operations — across brands and VCIs.

eLinehub maps your physical VCI over the internet so remote specialists can run ISTA, XENTRY, ODIS, FDRS, and every other OEM tool as if they were sitting next to the car. Below you’ll find the right starting point — by role, or by the vehicle brand and VCI on your bench.

Solutions by Role

Choose the solution that fits how your team works.

Each role has a dedicated setup guide, compatible VCI list, and workflow overview.

Independent Diagnostic Technicians

Who it’s for
Remote ECU programming specialists — independent technicians and small expert teams running their own OEM software and online accounts.
Key benefits
OEM tools, licenses and online accounts stay exclusively on your PC — the workshop accesses nothing
Serve multiple workshops across different locations from a single workstation — no travel, no site visits
Works with the VCI already at the workshop — no relay box, no extra hardware to purchase or configure
Compatible tools
ISTA · XENTRY · ODIS-S / ODIS-E · SPS2 / GDS2 · FDRS / IDS · Pathfinder / SDD · J2534 PassThru · DoIP

Key benefits
Deliver remote technical support through your in-house expert team
No infrastructure to operate — no servers, no hardware relay boxes, no on-site deployments
Optional custom-branded Mechanic app with your logo and routing

Repair Shop Chains & Fleets

Who it’s for
Multi-site repair networks, dealer groups and fleet operators with a central expert team supporting distributed branches or depots.
Key benefits
Central experts run ISTA, XENTRY, ODIS and SPS2 across every branch — no OEM tools or credentials distributed on-site
Role-based access with governed, isolated remote sessions per branch
Branches create orders; the central team dispatches and executes — each site manages its own jobs independently
Compatible tools
ISTA · XENTRY · ODIS · SPS2 · FDRS · Team Mode dispatch

In every scenario, a staff member at the workshop connects the VCI to the vehicle and runs eLinehub Mechanic. All OEM diagnostic software, licences and online credentials stay exclusively with the remote expert — nothing needs to be installed or shared at the workshop.

Remote Desktop vs. Hardware Relay vs. Software VCI Mapping

Hardware relay solutions and eLinehub both deliver true remote VCI access — the differences come down to what the workshop needs to provide upfront and what the solution costs to deploy and operate.

FAQ

Remote Diagnostics FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often from technicians, tool providers and workshop chains.

QWhich is better for my business — eLinehub or a hardware relay solution?
A
Both deliver true remote VCI access with the Technician’s own OEM tools. The key difference is deployment: hardware relay requires purchasing matched relay devices at both ends, ties you to one vendor’s compatible VCI list, and typically charges per session or via a platform fee. eLinehub is software-only — it maps any J2534 or DoIP VCI the workshop already owns, with no hardware to purchase, and runs on a predictable subscription. If your workshops already have a compatible VCI, eLinehub is usually the faster and more cost-effective path.
QDoes the workshop need to buy any hardware?
A
No. The workshop runs the free eLinehub Mechanic app on an existing Windows PC and connects their own VCI to the vehicle. No relay hardware, no OEM software licence, and no subscription is required at the workshop.
QWill my XENTRY, ISTA or ODIS credentials be visible to the workshop?
A
No. All OEM software, online accounts and licence keys stay exclusively on the Technician’s PC. The workshop shares only VCI device access — they have no visibility into your software environment, credentials or customer data.
QWhich VCIs are supported?
A
Any VCI with a Windows USB or Ethernet driver is compatible, including VAS6154A, BMW ENET, SD Connect C4/C6, JLR DoIP VCI, MDI2, VCM3, MicroPod II, and all standard J2534 PassThru devices. A full compatibility list is available on the Download page.
